Ribbed and Plain Steel Wire Reinforcement Mesh

Concrete reinforcement mesh is available in two main types:

  1. Ribbed Concrete Reinforcement Mesh: The wires have three-faced indentations (refer to the figure below), enhancing the bonding with concrete to prevent cracks.

  2. Plain Steel Wire Concrete Reinforcement Mesh: Smooth surface wires, suitable for specific applications requiring less friction.

F62/F72/F82/F92/F1018 concrete reinforcement mesh

Concrete reinforcement mesh is always used on residential slabs and footing-construction and BCA complying with AS 2870, which is always paced in all reinforced conrete members to stop the concrete cracking.


Specifications: F62 / F72 / F82 / F92 / F1018 Reinforcing Mesh

The F62, F72, F82, F92, and F1018 mesh panels are traditional specifications widely used in concrete reinforcement. These specifications have been updated with the following modern equivalents:

  • F62 → SL62

  • F72 → SL72

  • F82 → SL82

  • F92 → SL92

  • F1018 → RL1018

For example, the F62 (now SL62) features 6mm wire bars welded in a 200mm square grid, with a panel size of 2.4m x 6m.The Tensile strength is 300Mpa.
